The real problem of the first weeks
After a move you know the way to work and the way to the supermarket, and rarely more. Friends are far away, colleagues go home in the evening, and the weekend can feel long. Many people wait until they are "settled" before going out, when going out is exactly what helps you settle.
Why bring someone along
Going out with someone is easier than going alone: you dare to walk into a café, push open the door of a gym or a market, ask for directions. On Rent a BFF you pick a verified profile near you, you decide the activity (a coffee, a walk, a market) and the length, and you discover your first favourite places with someone who knows the area.
Who it is for
- People who have just arrived in a city for work or study and do not know anyone yet.
- Remote workers who spend their days at home and want a regular outing.
- People easing back into social life after a break-up or a difficult time, at their own pace.
- Travellers settling for a few months, see also exploring a city with a local friend.
What it is not
It is not a dating site, a therapy service or a removal company. The company offered is strictly friendly and platonic. A BFF is not a health professional: if you are going through a very hard time, talk to a doctor or someone close to you as well. For the rules in France, read rent a friend: the complete guide.
How it works, step by step
You find a BFF near you and send a request with the date and the activity. Once the request is accepted, you pay the 15% booking fee online, then you pay the BFF's hourly rate directly on the spot. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before, fee refunded.
Always meet your BFF in a public place, read their profile and reviews before booking, and tell someone close to you about your plans. If anything makes you uncomfortable, you can end the meeting at any time.
